Case Study: Heritage Bur Oak Tree Removal
It was our unfortunate duty to remove this Heritage Bur Oak that was estimated at over two hundred and fifty years old. The tree overshadowed five backyards, had reached an over-mature state and was beginning to show signs of structural weakness in some major limbs. After a large limb tore off of the tree during a windstorm, taking down hydro wires and damaging fences and other property, a decision had to be made regarding the future of this precious icon. Unfavourable Arborist reports, coupled with legal liability issues made removal the only viable course of action. The task of removing this tree required our full complement of specialists. An aerial lift truck and climbers were both required. The unusually large pedestal (2m in diameter) was left standing as a tribute to this giant that had fallen victim to urbanisation.
